  • An abdominal ultrasound helps assess organs like your liver, gallbladder, kidneys, and pancreas. Scans are usually done in the morning. You’ll need to fast for 6 hours beforehand—no food or drinks except small sips of water. Please take medications as normal.

    If you’re diabetic, please call our clinic for specific instructions to keep you safe and comfortable during your scan.

  • A renal ultrasound checks your kidneys and bladder. To get clear images, you’ll need a full bladder. Please drink 700ml of water one hour before your scan and don’t go to the toilet until after your appointment. The scan is safe, painless, and usually takes about 20 minutes.

  • A pelvic ultrasound looks at your uterus, ovaries, and bladder and is a very commonly requested scan. To get clear images, you’ll need a full bladder—please drink 700–1000ml of water one hour before your scan and don’t go to the toilet until after your appointment.

  • A neck ultrasound is a safe, painless scan used to check glands, blood vessels, and soft tissues in your neck—sometimes including the thyroid. No special preparation is needed.

  • We can perform obstetric ultrasound for all stages of the pregnancy. Printouts and online image access is free of charge.   • A DVT ultrasound checks for blood clots in the deep veins of your arm or leg. It’s a safe, non-invasive scan that uses sound waves to assess blood flow. No special preparation is needed—just wear loose clothing if possible. The scan usually takes around 20 minutes, and results are sent to your doctor promptly.

  • This scan checks your baby’s hips for signs of DDH (Developmental Dysplasia of the Hip). It’s safe, gentle, and usually done between 6–8 weeks of age but can be performed up to 6 months. No special preparation is needed. At our Grey Street clinic, scans are performed by a leading expert sonographer in infant hip imaging.

  • This scan looks at muscles, tendons, joints, and soft tissues in your shoulder, arm, elbow, wrist, or hand. It’s used to assess pain, swelling, or injury. No special preparation is needed—just wear loose clothing so the area can be easily accessed. The scan is safe, quick, and non-invasive.

  • A breast ultrasound uses sound waves to check for lumps or changes in breast tissue. It’s often used alongside a mammogram, especially for dense breasts or areas needing closer examination. No preparation is needed—just wear comfortable clothing. The scan is safe, painless, and takes around 20 minutes.

  • Liver elastography is a non-invasive scan used to assess liver stiffness, helping detect fibrosis or cirrhosis.

    Preparation:

    Fast for 6 hours before your appointment—no food or drinks except small sips of water.

    Avoid drinking large amounts of water, as this can affect scan accuracy 

    You may take your usual medications with a small sip of water.

    The scan is quick, painless, and results are usually available the same day.

  • A scrotal ultrasound checks the testes and surrounding tissues for lumps, pain, swelling, or injury. It’s a safe, painless scan using sound waves. You’ll lie down while gel is applied to the area, and a small probe is used to take images.

    No special preparation is needed, but wear loose clothing for comfort.

  • Corticosteroid injections help reduce inflammation and relieve pain in joints like the shoulder, hip, wrist. The procedure is quick and usually guided by ultrasound for accuracy. No special preparation is needed—you can eat and drink as normal.
